Default End all to be all MPG vs Tires thread

Here we go. I have been looking for the best optimization of gas vs tires for sometime. Through personal talks I have found an trend and I believe I can show tires being an odd characteristic to our awesome trucks with higher than 10 MPG gains.

I have been reading all the Dodge forums and have found alot of good information EXCEPT what is needed together in one place. So, here it is and lets see what the results are.

Please provide the following.

year?
Make/Model?
4x4 or 2x4?
Tire size and brand?
Load rating?
Gears?
MPG?
Engine size?
Engine type?
Mods? this one is optional

Lets see what happens.

lets see:
year? - 2000
Make/Model - Dodge Ram 2500 SLT Sport w/factory overload springs
Engine: 5.9L L6 Cummins Turbo Diesel
4x4 or 2x4? - 4x4 NP241HD xfer case
transmission - NV5600 6-spd manual
Tire size and brand? - 315/75R16 BFG Mud Terrain KM2's
Load rating? - D
Gears? 4.10
axles: Dana 60 front, Dana 80 limited slip rear
MPG? 14.5-15.5 (modified) 17-18 (before moderate performance mods with same tire size/type)
Mods? see signature for the most relevant mods...there are more than what the sig has, but they are not relevant to economy or performance.

and these do add weight so might as well list em...

fold down gooseneck hitch in the bed, and full size tow hitch under the rear bumper...

probably want to add transmission too...automatics and manuals tend to differ in economy and weight..

for example the diesels have the 47RE auto, NV4500HD 5spd and NV5600 6spd manuals
the gasolines have the NV4500LD manual 5spd, v10s have the HD option but no 6spd option.

xfer cases can differ too... diesel and v10 have the NP241HD, the rest have the LD version and previous model versions...

axle info may be relevant too..

we have dana 44/60 fronts and dana 60/70/80 rears for options on all the trucks as well as open diff or limited slip diffs in the rears...

If this truly is the "End all to be all" thread, then this is also relevant. Still dont know the point of the thread though....we have a "mileage" thread and a "tire size" thread....what other info are we going to gather from yet another MPG/tire thread?
