I'm currently interested in detachable face models like Yaesu ft-7900 and 8800. I'd like to mount the face in the overhead console...

Any recommendations on dual-band these days?

 

Talk to some of the guys on www.radioreference.com forums. They have a bunch of good information there on all kinds of radios. I know there are a few guys on there with 2nd gen ram setups.
