Ordering SCT Tuner, have questions
I know there's alot of people on here that have SCT tuners....
Do they come with 87, 91 and 93 octane tunes? or how does it work? I am just getting the bolt on one, because I don't have any mods, except a CAI.
How much of a performance increase can I expect for the $300?
When ordering online it asks me what kind of gears I have, and what my PCM # is, where can I find these? I'm fairly certain I have stock gears.
Thank you!

Yes they are worth the money.. with or without mods... Your PCM part number is right on the computer under the hood... Get a build sheet from dodge to check for gears.. Most likely it is the 3.55's... unless they have been changed.. Build sheet will tell you for sure though..
There is also a metal tag on diff with gears indicated. And it does not bolt on, it plugs into OBDII port, uploads, then you disconnect and put it away! Easy! And the canned tunes include the octane ratings you referenced.
FYI, Hemifever website now calling canned tunes 'bolt-on'
You will not see a big performance boost using the SCT. Whether or not it's worth it is your choice to make.
What you will get:
*It will give you 20 more lbs of torque by removing the torque management. (98 and up trucks)
*Shift points will be changed, truck will downshift out of overdrive to third easier without mashing foot all the way to floor like it normally does.
*Option for custom tuning in the future for more money.
Beware, some have reported damaged PCM from using the SCT tuner.
That's about it.

Custom tunes will allow you to adjust your stuff when you add more mods later.
Make sure that before you install the tuner than your plenum, cat and 02 sensors are good.
Otherwise you'll be pinging like a biatch.

"Bolt On" as referred to on Hemifever site refers to "bolt on" modifications to engine, such as rockers, headers, etc. As opposed to changing heads and cam, etc.
If not, Sean can correct the next time he logs into DF. But I believe I am correct. The tuner does not bolt on though.

It has been reported here. Few and far between though. I wouldnt (and didnt) let that concern me though. Ive had a SCT tune for over a year now and have changed which tune I run several times. No problems at all.
