Default 1989 Jeep Wagoneer

I have a buddy who said he would sell his 1989 Jeep Wagoneer to me for $300. I dont know chit about them, I have looked at his before, and even replaced an alternator on it. It runs, but is rough. Needs quite a bit of work.

Anybody know anything about them, and would it be worth getting?

Unless you have time and money for a project Jeep or really need a Jeep I wouldn't buy it. I don't see any value in those.

Now if you want to buy it for $300 and take it on some sweet jumps and crush it when it dies than I'd go for it

Depends on what you want to do with it.

Fix the rust, make it run good, slap some new paint on it.

Then drive it down to Louisiana and sell it for $3500.

I'm not even kidding about this.

I wonder if it would be possible to drop my 5.2 in it?

Probably. Might require some custom work. Just makes it a project

There is a Jeep culture out there that would buy any old style jeep vechicle. Best money is restored correctly though.

Thread title is kind of lame though. "1989 Jeep Wagoneer" would have been better....imho...

Nope. No award...lol...

Realistically, buying it for $300 and trying to sell for a couple hundred profit could be worthwhile. Just don't be like a guy that asked me $13,000 for a rusted out 69 Road Runner....

A project vehicle has to be low enough that a person can afford to invest in the restoration or it will be sitting a long time!
