Default Mods for Sounds/Getting "Rumble"

So, anyone got any good mods to get more of a "rumble" out of a truck? I've heard of straight piping, and cutting the tailpipe at the muffler but what else is there to do? I got a v6 and I just want it to sound a little meaner. And telling me to get a v8 won't do any good, this is what I have and what I can afford right now. I'm a kind of guy that likes bass and loud sounds

Get a V8.

The V6 will sound like **** with whatever you do to it.

Trust me, I've heard far too many of them.

I've NEVER heard a V6 rumble. No matter the year, make, model, or size.

There are a lot of high per V6 marine motors out there most are 4.3 liter, some can sound quite nice when done right. Look for a cam shaft for a hp v6 put that in your motor, a nice sounding muffler and headers then go from there. With the money you spend on those parts you could buy a V8 lol.

You can make it loud, but it will never "rumble". Sounds like you would not be able to "afford" making your V6 rumble, which would mean big cam, headers, etc. I would suggest saving your money and buying a V8. Guting the cat and straight piping it will sound like total a$$. Buy, hey, it's your truck. Although doing those things will not make it "rumble".

you know 4.3L mercruiser motors are a chevy vortec 4.3 right?

4.3L are a great v6. very powerful for what they are. basically a 350 with 2 cylinders chopped off.

as for op's question...put a cherry bomb on there backwards, ditch the cat, and put a turbo on it...will sound great

Edit; I work on lots of Chevy stuff Merc, OMC, Yamaha, Volvo and more all used Chevy motors in there Marine lineup, there are more Chevy motors used than other brands in the marine field.
