Default I am proud of myself

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone, even though I never asked any questions. This site has been a really big help for me. I have owned my Ram since 2001, and don't have any plans of letting her go soon. After researching on here I decided to replace the rear main seal by myself, it didn't seem like too big a deal. It took me about 2.5 hrs and I was done. Now if the tranny shop will get my trans rebuilt and back to me, I hope I can get that big **** back in, it was a PITA getting out. Oh yah, the dash is busted all to hell too, anyone else have that problem?? lol Thanks again for such an informative site.

Good job on getting that stuff done yourself.
Fixed your plenum yet?

As for the dash, 94-97 wasn't as bad, but some trucks had it.

Yah I don't the plenum, not the perm fix, I just replaced the gasket. Fixing it the right way, wasn't economically feasible at the time.

Well, it will buy you some time and since you've already done it once, when you have to do it again with the aluminum plate, you can get it done faster.

Yeah I did my plenum with the aluminum plate. The first time I messed up the gasket and as soon as the thermostat flushed it blew everything out.

The Second time I had it off and back in about 2 hrs

You don't necessarily need the aluminum plate, you could just use shorter bolts to secure the factory plate. I cut about 3/16" off my original bolts.
