Why don't I win?
I don't even think semis have needed to double clutch in years.
Volvo has been having great success with.... Wait for it..... An AUTOMATIC!!! In their semis! They also have only water as emissions and in large cities they actually "purify" the air so to speak because the intake air is actually dirtier than the exhaust. Apparently you can drink the exhaust if you wanted to collect it

Most semi drivers I've talked to don't use the clutch when shifting.. It's pretty common. I shift my 5spd without the clutch sometimes, usually just 3-4 and 4-5 because it's the easiest. Downshifting without the clutch isn't too hard if you're good at rev matching

You don't need a clutch for semi trucks. Hell you don't need the clutch in any vehicle except to start and when at a stop.. other than that your left foot will get really bored... I have a bad habit of not using the clutch in my brand new car...

Push in clutch, shift to neutral, let out clutch, bump gas pedal, push in clutch, shift to next gear.
The ONLY reason you would have to double clutch is if you drove a vehicle with a trans that DIDN'T have syncronizers. The only vehicles that qualify under that criterion are semi trucks, and farm tractors.
