I do landscaping with my uncle in blacksburg. He contracts a lot with warm hearth but we go all over the city. I live in Pulaski btw lol. Im going to tech in the fall
Nice car. A Subi will easily go over 200K miles with proper care, plus they are as sure footed as a mountain goat in snow & ice.
I guess you can say that is true! they slide around and loose traction just like mountain goats!
don't kid yourself. they are not invincible in snow and ice. seen a kid pass me one year in the snow and ice...I was putting around doing about 25-30 tops in my lil S10 (87 2.5L 4-spd manual 2WD with posi) and he decides I'm going too slow, (speed limit is 40-45 anyway) so he goes flying around me and speeds away in his WRX....well about a mile or so up the road I catch up to him...He slammed the car into the ditch. you're a fool if you think that AWD or ABS will save you on ice. I kept on puttin by... I knew better than to try and drive fast on snow and ice...I don't even drive my diesel in 4x4 much faster than the S10 when the roads get like that...just not worth it.

He must have been a 'tard, because I know two Suby owners who swear by them and their abilities in ice and snow, one of whom is an anesthesiologist who has to be able to get to work no matter the weather. He refuses to give up his Suby.

A Suby may be the most suited vehicle for ice and snowy conditions, but thats like picking the worst of the evils. No vehicle is predictable in snowy and icy conditions. Subies are just better at it than most anything else.
I had a Rex (WRX for you non-Rex owners) for 6 1/2 years. The original tires, Bridgestone RE92s, were garbage but OK in the snow. When I changed to Dunlop performance tires, the all wheel drive was useless in the snow. It's about the tires as much as it is the car/truck. Ice is another story though; unless you have spikes, you're riding on borrowed time.
