spare tire crank tool
I seem to have lost the crank tool used to lower the spare tire on my 99 1500. Ive been keeping the spare tire in the bed of the truck, but just the other night, someone decided to be a douche and slit the tire, I got a new tire, and I'm now keeping the spare inside the truck in the back seat, but its getting to be a hassle because when I have to put my daughter's car seat in the truck, I have to move it back to the bed. Is there a way to put the spare tire back under the truck without the tool?
You might go to a junk yard to see if you can find one. Sometimes those trucks still have their jack and stuff in the cab. Either way, if you can get a big square tool in there it would work. I can't think of anything off hand I could suggest. It would just be a matter of finding something that work.
Interesting someone posted about this, because I have a semi-related question (sorry OP, not trying to thread jack lol
). Is the winch adapter near the license plate mount supposed to be angled inwards a little bit towards one of the plate lights, or should it be sticking straight out? I got to replace the winch anyway because the wire frayed on it and my spare tire dropped out from underneath the truck (been riding around with a spare in my back seat since before Christmas lol)

You can use an old jack handle too, the type that's flat on the end like a tire iron. PITA to use though, it's short enough it keeps hitting the bumper.

I still have mine, but removed it as my spare is too large to go there...I've been considering selling it, but it may too much of a PITA as I figured ppl just get them from junkyards and PnPull type places.
