Hey just wondering, I have recently bought an edge evo cs programmer for my truck and tonight I put a quarter tank of 91 octane gas in it and switched it to performance mode. I took it out on the highway and used the 0-60 scale and it said 10 seconds. Just wondering if this is good for a truck or normal. I have pretty low tread 30 in tires. everything is pretty much stock except for having the programmer. It defiantly put me in the seat!

Do tune up work, replace the plenum and report back.
It should be a shade UNDER 10 seconds from what I remember as stock, "BACK IN DA DAY" they were mid 9's i think.

Ok When I got the programmer I replaced all of the plugs and it also has pretty much new wires on it. And how much do you think it would be to get the plenum replaced? So what your saying is that since it was doggy before, the programmer probably brought it back to stock hp and it needs some work?

Possibly.
You're looking at plenum, cap and rotor, timing set, cat, and front O2 sensor just for tune up stuffs.

Oh dear god. lol Well at most what I will need is the plenum and cap and rotor and the timing set. I just got a new cat and sensors in December. Is there anyway I can test the cap and rotor?

Ok maybe not the timing set because I just realized what that was and I know they are pretty hard to change so I am just going to say that there is nothing wrong with that and just go on. lol

Cat outta be fine then. There is not way to test them, you look at them and most of the time if they're questionable they will have carbon buildup on them and he worn.

The timing set is all of like 12 more bolts. And I can guarantee it has slack and needs replacing.

Okay I will check that out then. The only problem is that it is soo hard to get to. And when I helped my friend change the timing set, it felt like we had to take the whole front of the motor apart. :/

You're removing the water pump and the timing set cover. So yeah, you kinda are. But the big annoying stuff will already be out of the way for the plenum and you're already greasy.

Yeah. I wish I lived near you guys so I could just call you to come help me. LOL I guess its good that my girlfriends dad is the city mechanic and is insanely good at it. But yeah I think I will replace the cap and rotor and the plenum and see what happens there. And if it does then later down the road I will replace the chain and gears.
