Came to work today and discovered one of our network support people was killed over the weekend:
Driver In Fatal Lake Eufaula Boating Accident Considers Turning Self In

Rather irritating how the coward who killed him is hiding.

Thats Absolutely ridiculous that the driver would flee and go hiding. I understand the mans scared but he need to grow a pair come out face the consequences and leave the attorney middle-man behind for a minute.Sorry to hear that though.

He finally turned himself in, but he's going to be facing a bigger world of shat than if he'd stayed at the scene and waited for Lake Patrol.

Driver turns himself in after July 4 fatal boating accident at Lake Eufaula

Most likely drinking, which is why he took off, but now they can't nail him for that. So charges will likely be less severe.

Yep, 31 people die in a 3 month period out here on the lake every summer due to booze and boating. Its a sad thing. I feel for the family, sorry to read this sad news.

Fleeing the scene of an accident and most likely negligent homicide are in the works. We'll see.

^ Q are the boat opt's in your area required to have an marine opt licence? If so is it linked to their drivers license. It has become mandatory up here to have one over the last couple of years, I think its a good thing.

Very little or no jail time and loss of license. If he stayed when it happened he would have been charged with BUI and "aggravated" BUI homicide and all the other charges as mentioned. However, maybe the people he was with that day will say what he was doing in the hours prior. That will be just as good as a blood test to a jury.

Section 11-903 - Negligent Homicide

I can't find the statute for fleeing the scene of an accident.
