I was in Paris (France) a number of years ago on July 4th, and then again on Thanksgiving. Neither seems to be a holiday to them...... Just seemed kind of strange to me.
Seems the world does not revolve around the US....

our fireworks are crappy, everyone in VA leaves to go get real ones lol
It is so dry here that fireworks scare me. We had a wildfire about 1/4 mile form the house about 4 weeks ago, helicopter fire suppression and all. Seems there were around 50 wildfires in Travis County over the 4th.
Also Stewie wasn't lying about gas prices over there. Got some for 2.88 a gal
Gas for 2.88 is as good of a reason to go to Tennessee as legal fireworks is. P.s. I'm in Virginia, too. Gas usually runs about 3.50 downhere in southeast Virginia.
