Default serpentine belt

hey everyone, i have a question about the sepentine belt for my truck. the truck is 1998 ram 1500(reg cab, short box, 2wd, 5.9 magnum). i currently have a napa belt on my truck and ive noticed it squeels sometimes, i have a spare belt that came with the truck when i bought it. belt is a dayco 5070955. i looked up this part number and says it for a b1500 not a ram. anyone else use this belt on their truck or should i not use it?
thanks

B1500 is the Ram van. Ought to work anyhow. FWIW, I have been running a Dayco for the past 2 + years with zero issue.

When does it squeal?

Yupp should work just fine, same belt for all magnum engines
Id be curious why it's squeaking, sure its the belt and not a pulley?

thanks, it wont squeal everyday, it might squeal once a month or it might twice a day. if its raining there is a better chance of it squeeling. it happened today. i drove around the block and stopped, i hit the gas and it squealed, i let off and hit the gas again and it was good. this is usually how i deal with it squealing. one time i started my truck after it sat for about 20 minutes and when i gave it gas it squeeled and it wouldnt quit. tried giving it gas a few times and it didnt help. i put truck in neutral, revved up to about 4k rpm and it was good, that only happened once about a year ago and it was raining that night. im wondering if my tensioner is on its way out. it doesnt happen alot but enough to be annoying when it does. obviously something isnt right tho as it shouldnt squeal. and it wont squeal when truck is idling, only when throttle is applied.

Check the pulleys for any play. They should be solid, no play anywhere in them. Aside from turning haha. My idler pulley did what you are describing and I racked my brains for days trying to figure it out. Only did figure it out when the pulley completely failed and shredded my serp belt.

checked the pulleys and the idler and tensioner pulleys do have slight play, i'll replace those and swap the belt.

thanks for the responses
