It didn't move from there at all, either in traffic or on the highway. i guess ill be burping it again in the afternoon.

i just did that procedure about 3 times over the weekend, but no more burping it seems. everytime I checked after it got hot, the coolant level was good in the rad, and in the tank as well.

what is the normal engine temp supposed to be? right at 200? i can't remember all of a sudden.

I believe is 210. I wouldn't worry about it running a consistent 220. I don't know about there but here is been 100+ deg so that will play some role.

I would be bothered if my truck suddenly started running 220, as even in 110* Texas heat, my rig runs one needle-width under 210. I think that's about 200.

^You should put some in there.....the radiator sucks it in occasionally.

My truck runs straight up on 200 since I changed rad. and thermostat (195*) regardless of the air temp.

yea the whole 220 thing just bugs me. its making me paranoid that something else isn't working properly. I tried burping the system a few more times, and nothing comes out. I did notice though some residue inside the radiator.... would that contribute to it?

and this might sound stupid, but would mixing up the coolant brands cause this? I bought the 50/50 prestone mix from autozone to add after I flushed, because it was already low on coolant when I started doing the plenum. anyway to flush that gunk out?

and this is the paranoid side in me talking, but what is the clicking sound that the truck makes after you turn it off? this happens after you drive it for a while. sounds like metal clicking or something... im bad at describing.. sorry

If your rad is got a ton of junk in it that can definitely contribute. You might flush it.

(or take it to a shop and have them dispose of the hazardous materials. )

As for the clicking sound, that's normal. Just the metals on the engine and exhaust contracting as they cool.
