My Dodge Ram...
I also used the dash from LMC truck: $300 well spent, IMO. You'll never find one in a junk yard. They screwed up the recipe for the plastic and they all cracked - even the ones parked inside and protected from sunlight. My bezel was cracked, too: another $100. So while I had it apart I put in a decent juke box (Kenwood). Had to replace front speakers, both were just not working, now driver's side has wiring issue I haven't diagnosed yet.
Reverse lights were intermittent - would work about 1 out of 100 times. I have a manual trans but my findings could apply to any. I had the trans out for clutch work, checked the switch with an ohmmeter - seemed OK. Checked the 12-volt feed with meter - seemed OK. Shorted the connector (the one on the truck wiring - not the switch) and the lights work. So when I put it back together I put a little piece of aluminum foil into each of the connector sockets on the reverse switch (to help make better contact between pins and sockets) Now the lights work.
