mud grapplers tend to slide downhill in off camber situations. Seen a brand new ford slide sideways into a tree on a hard pack dirt road right after a rain.

I think its cause of the straight pattern on them, theres no angle on the side lugs or center pattern.

Mud Grapplers are great for two things, Mud and Looks. However unless a dedicated trail rig or show truck, I wouldn't spend the money.

Nowadays there is a lot of mud terrains that are fairly street friendly and most have been mentioned above, I will add however do not get bias ply tires if you drive it on the road.

i have 37-13.50's on my 98 that i got in a trade deal, i would never buy them because of the bad wear/price they have from watching others run them.... i love them and hate them.... they are loud as he11!!! as loud if not louder than a bogger, but i like the noise, most people dont, and they do look great! they actually ride great too, and get great traction in the rain (unlike the toyo m/t witch i also run) however the the graps wounder all over the place on pavement, when i first put them on, i turned around and went home after one mile because i thought my steering broke! but i have some what gotten use to that, but once they wear out, they are gone, and i wont run them again due to the wondering, the wear, and the price

after 100's of tires i have worn out, my vote for a good looking mud tire with good road manners is for cooper stt, toyo m/t, or kumho m/t, anyone of them should last 45k miles if not more, with minimal burnouts of course

Invest in stock for whatever company you decide to start buying front end parts from. You half-ton axles are going to HATE those tires.

irocs will wear just as fast as the graplers or worse, we put a set that size on an 01 diesel, got a total of 6k miles out of them and they were bald, they actually have very little tread contact, great for crawling tho...

Ok, good to hear that ! I ain't spending that much money to get 6k out of a set of tires ! The truck is not a everyday driver but i want to be able to pull the camper with it and then ride trails in the summer !

IMO someone should only buy Super Swampers if its for a trail rig. Even the radial swampers have horrible treadlife, but the M16s look quite sexual.
