I am happy to have discovered that Virginia is a business friendly State. That bodes well for my decision.

Arrived in Virginia December 20th and departed December 26th. All I can say is: WOW! Absolutely beautiful, or as I kept remarking, "Picturesque".
We peeked into West Virginia briefly on my first day and I snapped a picture of the mountain scenery. I could only imagine what it looks like after a fresh snowfall.
The countryside in Virginia is fantastic. I was amazed by the lush grass (for December) and all of the foliage (trees, shrubs, etc). One striking feature was the New England type stone walls that separated properties and marked boundaries. Also, I couldn't get over all of the streams and creeks. Beth would laugh when I'd comment, "Wow, more running water! LOOK!" The only time running water is encountered in Oklahoma is when it has been raining for several days and everything is flooded.
Here are some pictures I grabbed during our Christmas Day drive to just look around.
Many of the small towns and villages remind me of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I have to say that I am definitely sold on moving to Virginia. Unlike Oklahoma, it's not windy, has a lot of history, has a much better overall appearance, and a better quality of life. Plus, for a Red State, the people are much more open minded than the ignorant, Bible thumping, inbred rednecks in Oklahoma.
I am looking forward to when I can relocate.

Virginia was a Blue State last election. You can thank NOVA for that too.
But you're right, the Virginia countryside is quite nice.
Not sure what kind of skills/experience you have but there are tons of IT jobs in Fairfax/D.C./Springfield area. Sadly most of them require a current Security Clearance, not many companies willing to go through the process of getting someone cleared unless they are VERY interesting in hiring them.
