Default What 33s will fit?

Hi guys I've been trying to find out what tire/rim set up will fit 33s on my stock 99 ram 1500. Was wondering if someone is running them and could tell me what brand tires and what size/offset rims they are. I don't do too much off roading mostly looking for the look and ability to go off road when I have time. Me and a buddy are trying to fix up the truck for our senior project so we r looked for the cheapest way to do this thanks for the help

I run 285/75/16's on the 2500 diesel. Equal to redneck ram's springs. No issues. K.

285/75/R16 are what you need, they are the biggest tires you can get on without a lift being required. I had them on my 01' 1500 and 01' 2500 without a problem. I ran hercules terra Trac A/T tires which picked up for 600 a set, and they look pretty good, without costing a lot, and increasing my towing capacity from 2,400 lbs a tire to 3,300 lbs a tire. They equal a 33in tire, and I have pictures if you like.

That is your best option, it will lift your total height of your truck over an inch, and change the look a bit to look more "off road" like. 2wd or 4x4 it will work. Good luck!

With the 285/75/r16 is that on stock rims or off set ones? Truck is 4x4. On a different thread I saw somewhere some one said they where running 33x12.5s with outta problem any idea what offset I'd need to run them? Being in Maine there's always a lot of thos on cregslist for cheep

Redneck_ram was it hard to change the coils? And did you have to change anything else in the front end? I'd like to lift the truck a lil but just don't have the money, can probably get the coils at a junk yard cheep.

If I'm doing mostly on road driving am I correct in looking for a/t tiers because they have a longer tread life?

285/75/16 will and should fit with minimal or no rubbing depending on the make. All tires are different dimensions and you may have to do some research. I have Nitto Terra Grapplers and they never rubbed on stock suspension and wheels. After the 3" they look small but gears made me keep them.

Some brands run small (Cooper ATP 32.55) and others run large (Toyo AT2 and Cooper STMaxx 33). Most are around 32.8/11.5 but the biggest issue is finding non-E load tires. Everything is going to just E or P load now. C and D are being phased out. Well, E tires ride like a stone wheel even at 40psi so I have found two older models still in D load: BFG TAKO and Cooper ST. Problem is they are spendy and hard to find. If you got aftermarket wheels, the size may not matter as the control arms aren't so close.
