New rides!
Bought a couple different rigs recently. First was a 1998 Toyota 4Runner. 3.4L V6 SR5. It was misfiring, and filthy on the inside when I got it, but after a tune up and detail, it was an awesome little rig. It ran smooth as can be, and the 4WD in this was amazing. Perfect for the trails.

I bought it thinking I could make some quick cash on it, and I was right. These Toyotas with the 3.4 V6, 4Runners, and Tacomas are snatched up as soon as you list them. I only had mine listed a few days and a guy asked if I could deliver it to him in St. Louis. He paid for my gas, my asking price, and even offered a little extra since he had no way to come get it himself. After the almost 2 hour trip to his house, I almost didn't want to let it go. It really started to grow on me, will definitely be buying another one at some point.
Sold that 2 days ago, and already bought my next rig. a 1998 GMC Sierra 4x4 5-Speed. 5.7L Vortec, 6 inch lift. This thing is a beast. Hood needs to be sanded and repainted, but other than that, it's a sharp truck. Forgot how fun 5-Speeds were, and this thing will scoot. And the handling is great for a lifted truck. Doesn't wander at all, and is very responsive.

I had my friend drive it home for me, he didn't want to get out of it. lol

Well, the GMC was short lived. I took the hood off and delivered it to a body shop to get it repainted, and I figured while that was happening, I would change the oil and the starter on it. As I laid underneath this thing, I admired the BDS lift the truck sits on. It's the best built suspension lift I've ever seen in my life. If Jesus wasn't a carpenter, but instead built lift kits, it would probably be a BDS lift. But, my heart sank when I took the drain plug out of the engine that was no-doubt built by GM and nothing came out. Poked a screw driver up there, and a glob came out, then the oil started running. It was a caramel color, motor honey for sure. Sure enough, after I put new oil in, it starts knocking.... like hell.
The good news is, a buddy of mine, who's a hardcore Chevy guy (and probably has a spare 5.7 Vortec laying around) made an offer on the truck after I told him the engine was bad. He offered me his 2001 Ram plus $2,000 cash. Best part is, this truck used to belong to my cousin who bought a completely new engine for it about 2 years ago, right before he sold it, and..... It's a 5-Speed. Considering I only paid $2,000 for the GMC in the first place, I'm jumping all over this deal. He says he needs about a week to get the cash together, hopefully it doesn't fall through. Here's a pic. It's not nearly as good looking as the GMC, but at least the engine is good.
