Thanks, I think the light will come in handy when dove season gets here and you find yourself cleaning birds after dark. Stick a red cover or yellow cover to keep the bugs down
It makes a nice package for a sportsman (we have a good bit of hunting here). I have a strong bed cargo light in the farm truck, but nothing like this. Keep it up and you'll have to do a second battery.
Me, I'm thinking late night fishing (hose the bed down after cleaning the catch). Good upgrade! K.

Thanks! Yep, it would help night fishing. I've thought about a second battery. The ORE's came with a 135 amp alternator and I'll probably upgrade that to a 180 amp when it goes out.
There are plenty of morning dove around here... It can be a long morning getting your limit but the evening hunts it gets fast and furious and a limit can be knocked down in fifteen minutes, after a few cold beers waiting for them to fly

If you get a second battery it goes without saying that you should get a battery isolator. A lot of these newer isolators have a anti-drain mechanism or whatever they call it, so if one battery fails it won't drain the other.
135 amp alternator on your 2nd gen? didn't know such a thing existed...
You could go with dual alternators Been done before. That way if one fails you still have the other

The 135 amp alternator was a perc on the off road edition. I agree, with a second battery, an isolator is the only way to go. Dual 135 amp alternators is something to consider, thanks for the suggestion! A long pull with my 12,000# winch would be very draining on the system.

Just use the voltage regulator off of the older Chryslers, I can get you diagrams and P/Ns for it later. IIRC you can run one alternator off of the PCM and the other with the VR. I will have to double check on that though.

Yes, that sounds like the way to go, if I do it, I'll hit you up for the correct info. Thanks
