Default Tips on cheap/free things to do to get better mpg?

Anyone have and tips on getting better mpg? I know these trucks are gas hogs but was just wondering if there's anything cheap or even free to help improve it?

To get better gas mileage, check your tire pressure and make sure its were it should be, a better flowing air filter like a K&N will help a little, and an upgraded exhaust so your engine can breathe easier will help. Don`t expect to gain a lot, but every little bit helps.

Also, the way you drive has a lot to do with the gas mileage you get.

If you have a cool running cooling system I would tape off the whole inside of your grill to make your front end a little more aerodynamic but other than that is small minor stuff like what has been listed by Ram Driver. Also when you are on the hwy drive fairly close to the semi trucks especially the ones with the boxed in trailers.

I'm willing to bet a weeks worth of pay, that will make MPG go down!

Running a 160 tstat will in crease performance but kill mpg. If that was an idea. I quickly changed back to the 195. Currently running a cai, exhaust, dual electric fans (with a modified 160 amp alternator from an 01 durango) and full tuneup and plenum gaskets. Depending on driving habits i average (5.2 auto 2wd 208k miles) 16mpg combined and around 20-21 highway with ac. Around town on the other hand maybe 13 mpg i also have the 3rd gen 20"s and a 600lb cattle guard. Installing a hydrogen setup next month.

If it's any kind of an electrolyzer unit, forget it, it'll lower your fuel mileage, lessen performance, and lighten your pockets all at the same time.

Il be doing my plenum soon I hope. Just don't want to get stuck without a truck if something goes wrong so I've been putting it off I checked the tire pres today and noticed on the door it says 65psi front and 80psi back. I've never had anything bigger than a 1500 so is this right I couldn't find it on the actual tire
