Dodge axle questions
So, Ive been wondering, on my build sheet, my front axle is listed as a 195mm. It doesn't say Dana 44. What does that mean? my buddy has a 97 2500 and his rear axle is a 200mm. Its just been bugging me, and im about to swap the drivetrain from my dads truck to mine. Im swapping the entire axle assembly, but if the axle was damaged in the wreck, I want to make sure the internals will swap right and work correctly
This, half ton is d44/9.25 stock. 3/4 and 1 tons have the D60's up front and either a 60, 70 or 80 in the rear depending in config.
I have a 1998 1500 4x4 sport 318 46RE Automatic. Everything is stock, drivetrain anyway. My buddy has a 1997 2500 360 46RE Auto with a 1 ton suspension. It doesn't technically say dana 44, but that was the assumption I was under as well. It does show corporate 9.25 for the rear though.
Yup. Something I might consider doing as well.... Oh, wait. I have a 2500. I already HAVE them.

My dad's truck, the one im getting parts galore from, is a 2001 ram 1500 360 Auto. I am getting front & rear axles, as they are 4.10 ratio, trans, engine, maybe 6" lift and anything else I want. The truck was rolled and it don't look like the axle shaft was damaged, but if it is, I was just gonna swap the internals. But I was more curious about the 195mm and 200mm axles
Get the springs, shackles, and hangers for the rear axle as well.
Your front axle is going to be a D44. His front is a D60. Parts will not interchange between the two.
Unless he hit something REALLY hard with a tire, I doubt that the axles will be damaged.
