Default 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 360 4x4

So guys I need some real good info here. I just started at my new job and funds our tight, I have a fully clogged cat, truck won't Rev past 2500rpm. I removed the upstream 02 sensor and boom brand new truck, so my question is will it be okay to leave the 02 sensor out for two weeks from today til I get the cat? And gutting the cat isn't an option no access to a welding machine.

Won't really hurt anything, it'll just run rich and give you lower fuel mileage.

Well before the cat clogged it was running rich so shouldn't be a big difference. Thanks

Or unplug it, and toss it in the back seat till you can address the cat. Also, I would be making my best effort to figure out WHY it was running rich, otherwise, the new cat will go the same way as the old cat.

Well I ran all over yesterday without the 02 sensor in. And man oh man it felt like a new truck day and night difference, it won't be like this for long. I'm taking it to the shop to have a new cat welded on Wednesday. So I appreciate everyone's help.

Be a good idea to replace that O2 sensor as well, whatever plugged up the cat. has more than likely been fouling the sensor as well.
