Default Engine Corrosion

I have a beautiful 2002 Ram that I am not ready to part ways with. However, there is some moderate to bad corrosion on the engine block. Myself along with a few mechanics believe that the truck either was used as a plow truck or spent a large amount of time near the ocean. The only problem areas on the truck as far as bad rust a corrosion are on the engine block the body and frame are still in great condition. I am looking for information on the approximate cost of an engine swap, if it is worth doing the swap, and also what engine would be best to put in. Thanks for the help.

Post a pic... typically the rest of the truck will rot away before a block would have sufficient rust to be an issue (other than aesthetics).

I wouldn't swap an engine because the block is showing some rust. Mine is pretty rusted too, but I do see an excessive amount of salt on the roads here in the winter. The factory block paint seems to flake off in chunks making it look worse.

Perhaps a picture will help!
