schmidtp's Work Truck Thread

Thanks, schmidtp! I'm glad to see the stabilizer clamp still works on the new rods. There is some adjustment capability to the clamp but I suspect for use on the HDs since they used the same part. I will be getting Moog (would like Spicer as the stockers are still going strong). But I am concerned the Moog is thicker tubing than the 'regular' brands. Do you think (or anybody) the Moog uses thicker tubes along with the larger ball joints (Problem Solver)? I want it to bolt up exactly like yours did but don't want anything cheap as this is my DD and only rig. Thanks.

From a distance it looks pretty good. Obviously from up close you can tell its not perfect, but it's just a work truck that will see lots of salty winters ahead. About -10F this morning and she fired right up and took me to work

I took a grinder to all the rust spots and made sure that I was getting rid of all the body parts that had no rigidness to them. After that I just took screen that you would use on a screen door and some quick setting adhesive to connect make a connection between the body panels that were empty. Then just one coat of thin bondo that fills in all the holes of the screen. Let that dry then start getting some thicker coats on.

Just checked under the hood this morning and I have 3.5. I found a set of the same tire in 32x11.5, would that be more suitable? I am not trying to stuff the biggest tire I can, would just like it to be a bit bigger than the 265s I have right now.
Edit: I just checked the specs on 32x11.5 Falken Wild Peak and they are approved for a 10" rim so if you think this would be less stress then I will go with these instead of 33s
