Default air conditoning blows cold uphill

I have a 2001, 2500 RAM diesel with and Edge chip, automatic with 98,000 miles. The air conditioning blows cold going downhill, but blows warm going uphill. It also blows warm level under a minor load-about 2000 rpms seems key. I have had it in many times and had the pressure checked. I have unhooked the chip to no avail. I have had

new AC coolant put in and none of that helps. Has anyone heard of this issue and have some logical comments?

Manual or automatic trans? I am not sure if Dodge has the compressor cut off at large throttle openings.....

Does it switch where it is coming out? Is the compressor indeed shutting off? Even if it is, it shouldn't get warm immediately... Should take a minute or three....

It does feel like the compressor is turning off, but I am told by the techs that it works ok. It does not need to be large throttle response-mild pedal going uphill and it blows warm very soon.

Something is awry there. I don't think there should be anything in the PCM programming to disable the compressor until you are stepping rather hard on the go-pedal, and maybe not even then. But, being as you have der diesel, real possibility I am mistaken there......

Service manual says nothing one way or the other, that I can find.
