Whenever I decide to replace it, the exact same Delta 50 is going on.
I had a 50 Series with dual pipes and when I cut it off, I accidentally knocked a hole in it because it was so rusted after almost 4 years. Hated the sound. Hate any chambered muffler. Also prefer the curve of the powerband without it.

The major factors are the state you live in, meaning weather. If you live in a snow state like I do in Nebraska, the salt used on the roadways reeks havoc,.....on all metals, including of course exhausts.

Another factor is your driving manner. A lot of short driving, like shopping, leaves condensation sitting particularly in the muffler, can rust our quickly. This is very harsh on engines as well.

You can drill a small hole in the muffler at it's lowest point, so water can drain out.

Anyway, I'm also researching exhaust cat-back systems for my 4.7 2000 Dakota. I really don't care for the cackle/raspy sound when the engine revs down, so I prefer the turbo mufflers.

Since I drive my vehicles until they die, I'm considering a stainless system. Like from above, I like the Gibson, Heartthrob and Dynomax.

One that's expensive,.. but has high quality and deep sound, is the Borla.

Here's just one video.

I'm in Eagle, 10 miles east of Lincoln.

We raced 360/410 Sprint Cars for 12 years, and we're 3 miles from Eagle Raceway. The fastest 1/3 oval in the world. We raced other tracks, but Eagle is close, get a lot of cars, great track prep and wonderful owner & staff.

The World of Outlaws and the 360 touring teams come every year & love it.

Come down sometime and we'll go to a race !

Been to Sioux City many times. Great town.

That's not weather. That's a state government that doesn't give a damn about the costs it's externalizing onto all of its car owning citizens. I'm pretty sure that if the switch to salt were made here in Colorado the governor would get kicked to death for it.

Not anywhere I've seen with my own eyes, but I must admit that I often forget that it's been 18 years since I last saw the Front Range so I'm not too sure what they're up to over there.

I seem to recall hearing that they switched over to some kinds of magnesium chloride right around Denver because the sand was causing too much particulate pollution and breathing problems, so I probably misspoke earlier. Out this way, though, it's certainly just plain old sand that we're using.

Iv figured out my system, I'm going with the stock walker catalytic converter, stock 02 sensors which are desno if I remember right, and a heart throb cat back. Should sound half way decent and run decent....after I picked my truck up from the transmission shop for the third time the pipe right after the cat that houses my rear 02 sensor fell off so I'm dead in the water right now

That'd be SIIICK. You should bring it up to Grafiti Night in Onawa, it'd be a hit. Actually working on planning a Ram truck meet in Omaha for the Sioux City and Omaha area enthusiasts like myself.

Some areas of Nebraska up north of Omaha are doing that magnesium panther ****. Works well but eats just the same. My area sticks to a mixture of salt/sand

wish I had known that before I ordered it, I even double checked everything before ordering to see if it said that because I wanted to keep the spare under the truck....oh well guess it's a good thing I have my tonneau cover
