Default Sun visors

I have a 1998 Ram 1500 Quad Cab and am looking for replacement sun visors. The local repair shops can't re-do them because the fabric is folded and tucked between the interior plastic and melted together. Does anyone know of a supplier that sells these? I've tried 1A Auto, Rockauto and a couple others with no luck.

Yep found them. One problem I see is they don't come with the rod. Any idea how to get the old visor off the rod and secure it to the new visor?

With the new ones in hand, you can destroy one of the old ones, to see how the rods come out.

I tore one of these apart last time I was at the junkyard, what a crappy design. This probably doesn't help much but I took a pic of what's inside of these things

I guess I didn't take pictures of the spindle but essentially you have a rod with a number of flats ground on them that is held in place by metal fingers you see in the 2nd pic, which are bent to provide a compressive force on the rod. The flats on the rod are used as detents so that the sun visor stays flipped up when it is against the headliner when not in use. If i remember correctly the 3 skinny fingers are guides and the 2 fat fingers are the ones that contact the detents on the rod. It could very well be the other way around, but same concept.

I recall being able to remove the rod with some force and turning but saw no easy way to insert the rod back in, as the fingers are pre-bent and you cannot simply shove the rod back in on a straight shot. You'd have to wallow the rod side-to-side to get it past each finger.

That being said I don't know what the LMC ones are designed like or if they are the same. The take away is don't force them and think it through before trying.

Dont have any pics but having had mine apart a few years back as part of when I recovered the headliner and did the visors also: I couldn't see getting that rod back through blind but maybe if you are careful. Probably easier though to break it open and reglue.

I replaced mine a few years back with take-offs from a salvage yard.
