Default Alldata diy

I was working in a customers house today when we got to talking. He was a mechanic for years and had all of the textbook Chilton and service manuals for the dealers he worked for when he recommended "alldatadiy." Not being a professional mechanic ive never owned anything more than the Haynes or Chilton books. Since joining this forum my knowledge and opportunities to learn more has grown exponentially. I've downloaded the pdf service manual but I'm wondering if anyone has time using the "diy" section and how much does it leave out compared to the "shop" version before I buy a subscription.

Shop manual is what the techs at the dealership use. I don't personally use the alldata site...... as 99% of the information there is freely available elsewhere.
