Wildman His Jeep & His Surgery
I appreciate all of you and your comments. It's nice to have folks pullin for you even if you don't personally know them. I'll try and keep you all posted on how I am doing and when I get ready to start working on my 408 again I'll be sure to bring that thread out of the dust.
Rick, I'm glad you're up and about so much more with new leg. You'll have it figured out and be using it for a wheel chock before you know it. I haven't been on here much lately, but I still see the email updates whenever you post and I'm always looking forward to seeing them. Keep up the good work.

Rick/Wildman - I haven't been on the Forum much in the past year or so, so I missed this saga until a couple of days ago. You dont' know me, but I remember your helpfulness in recommending a shop in Kent to me when I was looking for someplace good near Seattle. I Pray that your recovery is continuing, and that in short order, you'll get back to your 408 project. I think of you eveytime I eat at the Cottage Café, lol!

Yep I am still here just been dealing with everyday stuff. Oct is NEVER a good time of the year. This was my 14 year anniversary of being shot and being my first year as an amputee it was harder than usual. I try to come back every couple weeks and check in right now. *

I'm glad I was able to help you out before. Things are moving along but I've had a few set backs. I hope come spring I'll be back working on my engine and by summer the Jeep will be running.

Always happy ta see ya.
I'm around and I stop in and read posts but since I don't have a lot to add right now I have just been keeping quiet. There isn't a lot going on in my life other than trying to get use to wearing my socket each day. Right now I am trying out a new socket becasue my leg had shrank so much. I am pretty much on track with where I should be if not a little ahead of time. I want to make it thru winter and then I hope by spring I can start working on my engine again and have my Jeep running next year.
So as your leg shrinks in size the socket doesn't fit as well anymore so you end up having to wear socks over your limb. I was wearing 15-18 ply's worth of socks by the time the VA said Yes he needs a new socket. So here is a picture of the difference between the two.

And this is my new check socket. The check socket is made out of a plastic type material and can be heated to mold it to fit your stump. Once the prosthsist gets the fit he wants then he will make me a new definitive socket made out of carbon fiber. The definitive

So that is where I am at right now.
