Default under hood light LED...

Found a set of LED lights that are setup as replacement for 561 bulbs. Received them today (bought a 4 pack). They are really bright.... will see how long they last.

I just went with the KC pod under his light kit. Works really well and super bright, I don't even need a flashlight anymore when it is pitch black. Good find though!

Thinking I'll just put another oem housing on the other side of the hood so I get more light on the passenger side. The internal switch seems to work pretty good,

Does yours light up when you hit bumps like mine did?

Inspection is tomorrow, so I shall see - or not ! I was thinking it was more like the refrigerator, does that light REALLY turn off when you close the door? lol... Did you have that long rubber insulator piece on the cowl that mates to the hood? Figuring that'll block my view...
Maybe that is why all the ones I see in the jyard have burned out bulbs....but I haven't read anywhere that people are complaining about it.

No I don't when I bought the truck it wasn't there and I couldn't find a replacement (if you know where to get that piece let me know!) And when I hit bumps it comes on and goes off. Since I think the Mercury (I think it's a Mercury switch) moves thus completing the circuit.

Its not Mercury, its a solid metal ball inside of a cylinder. I was kinda impressed with that switch. I find those long rubber cowl pieces in the jyards. I think it keeps water from flowing over the cowl and down your firewall. If you can not find one, I'm sure I could pick one up locally...

I was always told it was Mercury as even the local junkyard said they are thats why every understood light was removed before the truck got the yard. Good to know that. I'll check for that strip next time I go, if not I'll let you know!
