2001 RAM1500 5,2 V8 4x4 trans type
Hi everyone, I'm out of Czech and I have a question. How do I find out the gear type? There aren't many possibilities for accurate detection, so you can advise me here. I have 2 gearboxes, one has stamped PK521195382865 2681 and the other has PK521191712317 4170. I need to find out what type it is, I'll make a replacement and I don't know how much oil is needed for the entire gearbox. Thank you, Venca

Apparently both are A518 transmissions. However, there were a couple different flavors of those, and even then, there were differences between model years. Your truck will want a 46RE transmission, (same as A518) with electronics for the correct year. (they changed in 00.)
