Default regular bed swap out to utility/service bed

Hi all,
I want to get a utility/service bed and swap out my oem 8' bed. What other beds will work? I have a 1999 Ram Diesel Club Cab 2500. Will utility beds off Chevy, Ford etc. work if the distance from the cab to the wheel well is right?

Without some modification, only the Dodge specific boxes will work. Ford or Chevy boxes you would likely have to fabricate the correct mounts, and adapt the wiring harness.

Well crap.
Thank you both. I'm going to really have to focus the old radar now to find that bed.

Thay are out there. Dodges tended to be bought more by companies where Furd and Chebbies tended to be private owners. That means a lot of worn out trucks in the bone yards. Call around, you may find a really nice one fairly cheap. If you buy a new one, you can get one to order.
