mystery box of unknown function
Dorman - OE Solutions 628-040 from walmart.com of all places. Does not fit like origional, placed pad starting behind bull rings to rear. Hope this works. have not completed wireing at this time but intend to wire into existing. Origional plug is 4 wire, 2 to seat, 2 to back pad. Prepairing to hack and slash right now. think I have everything I need to make this happen. If it works, can't complain for just under $40 and I have an extra pad from the deal. The bull rings and pliers they supply don't work, as I replaced the cover, I used the original rings to reattach the cover. If you want more of the gory details I will provide.

Err, where is the diode. still have old pad, kinda shame, Had a connection pull out in the pad. My progress is (drum roll) the white and grey wires go to the back. the 2 black with red tracer (stripe) go to the seat. Got a problem thou, the impedance of the seat seems to be 4.3k ohms for stock. the dorman is not measurable with cheap multi-meter which seems to be the same as the back. The passengers set works fine, drivers set still blinks the low heat light as it did when the pad had open circuit. have checked, seat is not open circuit. any ideas? mein is to get resister to match origional.

fsm is the Factory Service Manual it is whet Dodge techs use when you take the truck in for service. You can download it from the FAQ section of the forum.

3521205[/url]]Any chance you could post link? I am not very good with the social media and have not had luck finding the fsm. Thanks in advance.
Pick your year.
Maybe this should be posted in another thread but thank you to all for the help. have frankensteined a cable and now the seat heater works! When you replace the heater pad keep the old one. Use a light to find the temp sensor in the old pad. In the blue connector you will find 2 black wires with red tracers(?) a grey and a white wire. check the sensor by testing the resistance acros the black with red tracer wires, should be about 2kohms. The sensor was located in my pad off center about 1/2 - 1 inch from the oblong box you will see where the wire enter the pad and as I recall on the side of the wires tested. It will appear as a dot about 1/4 -1/8 " in diameter. I cut the blue connector with most of the wires from the pad. Rewire the cables so the heating pads back and seat are in series acorss the white / grey connections. I added tails to the sensor, shoved it into the seat on top of the pad and connected to black with tracers in plug. Polarity did not seam an issue. When done, fired up the truck and turned on the heater, go nice toasty buns. Will know more about positioning of sensor later this year.
