Hey guys, got a 99 1500 5.2 4x4, I'm new to the dodge scene and this has probably already been discussed somewhere but, the gas guage started acting up the other day. Sometimes it acts normal at start up(goes to full then to fuel level), and sometimes it just goes to 1/2 or somewhere. Then slowly falls off back towards empty. Everything else seems to be doing fine but can't figure out what is going on. Thanks for any advice.

 

I do believe that your gas gauge gets its cue from the PCM.... which gets it from the sending unit. Would be interesting to see what the PCM thinks fuel level is, and if it is seeing what it is showing on the gauge, or if the gauge itself is simply confused.
