Well then fix the thing. A whole new dash can be had, delivered to your door, for less than $250 from LMC Truck.

We need a sticky in the forum entitled "Dash Cracked? Read This Before Posting About It!". Just one article, with links to replacement dashes, covers, and so on, and an admonition to just STFU and deal with it. It's not a safety concern; it's a cosmetic defect. It sucks. It's a PITA to fix. But it's an old, used truck and every stinking little problem it has is the owner's problem. Fix it or don't, but STFU about it. If anyone owes you 5h17 because of your cracked dash, it's everyone who's ever been subjected to your whining about it who rightfully should give you 5h17 about it.

Let me guess, because it's not there to slow your velocity while flying out the windshield....sure. Get a grip.

How the hell could a cracked dash be a safety concern?

Man not this thread again.

I have a funny one for you though. I eas working on my 95 and pulled the key out the ignition and threw it on the dash. Went to working on some of the electrical under the dash when I heard the distinct noise of th key falling through a crack in the dash, took me 3 hrs to retrieve it. Lol.

I think the safety concern is that when, in a crash, what is left of the dash will fly apart, the shards acting like knives. Damn plastic is sharp sometimes. lol

At least that's the theory.

That's what I've heard before too.

This would make a great episode of MythBusters, it would be titled "Can a cracked dash board from a 2nd Gen Dodge Ram kill you in an accident?"

And you know you read that in either Adam or Jamie's voice!

Actually, I read it in their narrator's voice. :S

And I don't want to see that episode, since they would most likely be killing perfectly good Rams.
