Default Wheel hub bearings

Alright, I got new ball joints but haven't put them in yet. I'm thinking that I have a bad wheel bearing, but I haven't checked yet, so I may not. I'd rather do it all at the same time.

Anyway, what brands are good bearings for these trucks? I've seen prices from $60 through +$200.

I''m not to concerned about the price as long as the part/brand is worth it. Although I would rather not pay +200 for one bearing, I do want quality.

Any insight?

Oh yeah, I do have a plow (500lbs) also.

I had got my bjs from Quad4x4.com

Wheel Hub bearings, Timken, from Rock Auto, Part #HA599863 $148 ish

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/rafr...&parttype=1636

I can't speak to the applicability of the plow though.

Basically I just want to get "good" ones if I end up needing them.

Timkens are known to be good. I didn't come across anything showing they were no-nos. Big price difference is if you have front ABS. I don't. I would think with the blade on and being used for the winter, you are just going to work them hard enough that you will replace on a more frequent basis. How long have you been plowing? If this is a long term application with your 1500, is there any thought to upgrading that front axle?

2 wheel abs, that doesn't work (like most I've seen on here). This will be the second season for plowing. Just got the plow last year. I know it'll be harder on them, that's why I'm wanting good ones.

The truck will have a plow for the rest of its life. I'm wanting (or hoping/wishing) to get a CTD and just have this one as the "winter beater/plow truck". Until then this is my DD though also. And that'll be for several years more than likely.

Are the Timken's any good being as though they can be had from AZ? That's the only reason I was/am not completely sure about them.

I put Timken in my Yota. I usually look for them and if not available, SKF. Both are excellent quality bearings.

Rockauto has Timken for 150 and SKF for 220. I found Precision brand for 175 at O'Reilly's. SKF is a little too expensive. I'm thinking about either Timken or Precision.

The Precision hubs have a 3 year warrenty compared to Timken 1 year.

Timken is not a AZ brand, otherwise, yes I'd share your concern. I never came across the Precision. Looks like that +$25 more for 3 year warranty is a good deal just comparing those 2 brands. More so considering your usage.

Thumbs up on the Precision.
