Question, Dan's instructions say to reset the PCM. If I do this, do I have to de-install my Hypertech tuning and/or reinstall it after the PCM reset? Thanks much.
I don't think you would need to. Resetting it is not going to delete your Hypertech program. That is stored on there permantly. When I had a Hypertech, I reset it all the time when I did other mods.

Thanks Silver, picked up a one half inch spacer and everything hooked up; time to reset the PCM and fire her up! Thanks for the advice.

And thanks for the FIPK No More post - went your way...

Well the fastman and 14x3 are in. Didn't connect one of the cables correctly so she had no peddle - but sounded really good. Fixed the problem and went for 50 mile hell ride. Now I have a slightly harder shift between 2nd & 3rd; hope I didn't tear something up on the drive. I definetly feel the power pullinghills and don't hear any noise from the new filter setup. Tomorrow is a 200 mile trip through the hills so I will report back.

I am not all that technicly savy but this was a very simple project - even making the s-bolt. For those thinking about these mods, if I can do it so can you.

Thanks to those that provided assistance.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Post some pics.
Give your PCM plenty of time to relearn. If there is room for it to improve from an air mod, it will find it, and you will feel the difference.

Okay, you guys have me hooked on the Fastman upgrade.
I was looking at Summit Racing catalog and saw the Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold and camshaft set. Would there be any benefit in using this manifold with the Fastman? Would it be necessary to change out the cam as well? I haven't seen where anybody has this type of set up on here. This is a 2001 5.9L stock engine.

is it for fuel injection?

Pages 318-321 in the catalog lists "MOPAR Performance" goodies. The Edelbrock manifold application chart only reads "Chrysler 318-360 EGR" or "non-EGR". Further text also reads "Some are direct-stock replacements that accept the stock carb and emissions equipment". I'm assuming that based on that wording, this manifold is not for fuel injection.

On the same page, there is also a "Dual-plane Performance Manifold from MOPAR" with application listing for "Chrysler 318/360 Magnum, 1992-up". The text on this confuses me because it states, "The 4-barrel manifolds also feature heat crossovers, making them ideal for dual applications. Accepts standard flange pattern Holley carbs".
There is also a "Single-plane MOPAR manifold" with 3applications listed for Chrysler A, B, or RB engines specifically.

Now that I've uncovered this confusing mess, I will contact Summit tomorrow and see what they tell me. I've not done anything like this before so please excuse my ignorance. I just figure if a Fastman is in the future, why not a manifold upgrade if possible?

Check out the "K & N FIPK no more" thread. It should answer all your questions. Many thanks to SilverDodge, Indyram, et al.

The power is there, plain and simple. Since the mod, I am having a hard shift from 1st to 2nd gear but it only happens half of the time. I think I may have done something when I was on her hard yesterday. Just flushed the ATF 7k ago and it is still red. Think I am going to have it looked at. The fastman and the 14x3 were perfect complements to the high flow cat, big block 50 and the 3 inch cat back. It's fast - way faster than before with the same amount of peddle. I'll get some pics later.
