Meinike fuel System Cleaning???

RE: Meinike fuel System Cleaning???
Many people here will say to use Seafoam in the tank and through the TB. Personally, I have not tried it yet, but hace used OMC foaming engine tuner - the same stuff for outboards. With Seafoam, you let the product work for about 5 minutes; with the OMC stuff you can let it sit up to 16 hours. Both products are about $6/can (step 1 or 3). Most people have carb or TB cleaner laying around so consider step 2 free. The 3rd step in the fuel injector cleaner in the tank (or Seafoam).
For $12-$15 you can do the same service yourself, and use the cleaning products you want to use.

"the flush done at a shop is better because is goes right to injectors and cleans the rails out as, well worth the money." Sorry but you're wrong. And so is the guy that said you "shouldn't dick around"... I spent 2 years working at a shop that does "3-step fuel system cleanings" .... And I have done my own cleanings with Sea-Foam... The Sea-Foam works so much better that there just isn't any contest. Go buy a can of Sea-Foam and a can of Deep-Creep (Aerosol sea-foam). Spray the deep creep in you Throttle body. Pour half a can of Sea-Foam in your gas tank. Use the rest of the sea-foam to be sucked up by various vacuum lines. .... I actually use a whole can of sea-foam w/ the vaccuum line part. If you want to save some money and use a whole can on the vacuum lines, go get a can each of deep creep and sea foam and STP's concentrated fuel cleaner and use the stp for the tank. Good luck, it will work GREAT

I spent a good 45 minutes flushing the buildup of crud out of the fuel rail and then had my injectors cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner. You can't get more thorough than that.

Could Seafoam have cleaned this? BS!

RE: Meinike fuel System Cleaning???
Here's the advice I was given from a mechanic for a race team.
Buy an ultrasonic cleaner for jewelery. It may run you $100 or so, but the basket has to be large enough to hold an injector. Fill the reservoir with mineral spirits as a cleaning agent and let it run its course. The cycle takes around 10 minutes or so. While everything is apart, flush the fuel rail with a cleaning agent. I'll bet yours has crud on it in the back (very common). Clean all 8 injectors and replace all upper and lower injector o-rings. Cost for those will be about $5.
The above method is very thorough and will insure TOTAL cleaning of the fuel delivery system at the engine. The fuel pump/filter assy is a very different story, as is for any crud in your tank. Injectors that are 100% clean will perform better and improve mileage. There is no "magic cure" in a bottle.
