Default My transmission problem...HELP !!!

I have a 97 dodge ram 2wd 1500. 318c.i. automatic....
Today I left to take a drive and about 3 miles down the road, at a red light, I went to take off and the transmission started slipping real bad. I pulled off the road and checked the fluid. The fluid was full and somewhat red. The truck would pull a little when revved up. I somehow made it home after I let the truck cool a little. It was really slipping bad and I barely made it.
When I got back, I removed a cooler line and checked for pump pressure and it was fine. I drained about 5 quarts of transmission fluid this way and replaced it with ATF+4 fluid. Still the same problem. I didnt change the filter thinking I would be waisting my time.
This truck has a rebuilt trans in it from about 13 months ago and I have never had a problem with it. I pulled my racecar and trailer with this truck (approximately 4 times)and it never skipped a beat. No warning sign at all, just started slipping bad.
The funny thing is, I havent really put 6000 miles total on the truck since I bought it a year ago. I baby it to no end and it is always being worked on. I am really getting fed up with it. But I need to fix it. Any ideas.

Also, does anybody know what transmission is in this truck ???

You should have a 46RE tranny.

It sure does sound like it's over filled. Under filled can slip all the time ... overfilled slips after a little while ... sit a bit and it's somewhat better then starts slipping again.
