Default dual exhaust ?'s

ok so i called around today about dual exhaust for my '98 1500 360, and i dont know if i'm a dumbass or the guys talking to me were dumb, but he told me i would not be able to get a true dual exhaust, only a single in, dual out, is this true? i always thought you could do a true dual with two mufflers and such. thanks guys and excuse me if this was the dumbest thing you've heard. he said this because of the cat, hmm, i also brought up a magnaflow highflow cat, and he said 'they dont exsist' so yeah, i dunno, kinda flustered and have to get to work, thanks though!

If all you're looking for is sound then all you need is a stock system with a Flowmaster 40 series swapped in. If you want to augment performance additions (headers, intake, TB, etc.) then duals (not just cat back) is the way to go.

I have a dodge with the california emisions on it so I have two cats. In that case would I still see a gain by doing true duals from the cat back since they are dueal up to the muffler already?

I am looking into a system too, I didn't know there was a 2 in/2 out cat! I have been looking at alot of stuff, but never saw this. Who makes it, and is there a place for the o2 sensor on the 2/2 cat?

check it out for the dual cat..idk if they are connected or not...like it has two inlets and two outlets but it's just one big converter instead of two smaller ones...it doesn't say..but anyways, if your looking into a dual exhaust makes you run an h pipe or x pipe or you'll won't gain as much horsepower and you'll get the bad crackling noise

I have true dual exhaust on all my trucks. If your going for power, that is the way to go.
I have Flowmasters on the red and the white trucks and a Borla on the black one.
They sound good, i like it.

A lot of shops won't do true duals. The local Mineke said they couldn't do it. I think it's illegal for them to change the cat setup with something like that but idk for sure. I know when I worked at a shop the other mechanic that knew a lot more than I did told me how it was illegal. There are some local country shops here that will do it anyway but the big chains won't do it around here. I'd try checking into some local shops and see if they will. $300 sounds good to me on the single in dual out system. I got quoted $350 or more everywhere I called around here to have mine redone.
