Default trans ID

Probably a silly question but where can i got to find out what tranny is in my 1999 ram 2500 with 5.9 gas burner.??

Not a silly question ... probably a 46RE but here's a way to tell for sure ... well ... almost foolproof ... my Build Plate lists a tranny code that doesn't exist.

thank you for the fast reply. just one more question on my plate it says i have a DHG code trans which isnt listed. Any ideas???

That's what i meant when I said it wasn't foolproof ... I think mine is on the plate as DGB ... not listed either.

I'm pretty sure that V6's (1500 only) got 42RE's and V8's (all models) got 46RE's. The 47RE's were reserved for the CTD's and V10's.
