Do I really need some back preasure?
I just recently had a "code" come up, plus jerking and take-off in higher gears than normallyand it told me my front O2 sensor is bad. So I replaced it, eased the code ran just fine. Now it still doing the same darn thing. Now stop while we on the subject O2 sensor needs back preasure to read theair-fuel mixture proplerly, I'm running a gutted cat and nothing else, execpt the12" of pipe after the cat.
Now two things I mght need

I'm tryin to get one of these Dynomax Ultra-Flow part # 17228. The local muffler shop is both a Flowwbaster & Dynomax dealer, but he don't like the ultra flow ones so he don't carry them, nor does he want to order one for some werid idea, he only carries the turbo ones. But I don't care I alreadyfoldone at Advance Auto for $75 + tax=$81.

well guys I just got a "ticket" today for too loud exhaust (more like a warning), from the MAN. and I agreed with him that my truck is too darn loud. I have 30 days to fix it or it gets impounded. The cop lives just 7 0r 8 houses away from me. I have to get it fixed then report myself and my truck to him.
You deffenitially need some back presure.
I ran my truck for a little while just cat back, when I got a muffler I got better MPG and power. A performance exhaust is a little less restrictive then straight pipes but engines are made to run with some backpresure.

Isn't it a little more restrictive than straight piped
The o2 sensors tell the PCM how effective your cat is. If you gutted the cat then the o2 sensors are going to tell the PCM that your cat isn't working. I think you can buy an o2 simulator that you can rpelace one of your sensors with and it will trick your PCM into thinking that your cat is there and working properly.
You probably shouldn't let that cop find out that your cat is gutted either. That's a big deal in some places.
