I am pretty sure that the temperature sensor is part of the Governor pressure sensor. It is attached to the valve body and is easy to get to once the tranny pan is removed. I just replaced mine along with the governor solenoid $130 for the pair from a place called Dacco Transmissions. Not sure what the dealer would charge but I sure it is a lot. Might as well replace the pair along with new filter/fluid and afjust bands. Not really happy with the 46re trannies but I have to deal with them. Good luck!!

i've got the factory tow package and the factory auxillary trans cooler. someone told me that the temp sensor would be in that cooler, so traced some lines and there is indeed a sensor in the cooler and i'm assuming its a temp sensor but i don't know that. what do you think?
