Default Fastman Throttle Body installed...

Installed a 52mm Fastman throttle body (and also swapped in 3923's) on Friday right before a long road trip. My 1st impression was holy cr@p, this is nice!!! Lotsa power across the whole rpm range. After the re-learning period (2000 ram), my 2nd impression is still holy cr@p its still killer. My 1st fillup on the trip gave me 14.5 mpg (never had that on california gas... ever!!), which included several climbs over mountain passes, one called Molitor pass is at 18-20% incline the whole way... ouch. my truck was in 2nd most of the way and close to WOT most of the way as well (over the summit). I should also add that before the TB & plug swap I was consistently getting 11.5 mpg (I think becasue of the leaking plenum, was 13).

I have to say that I'm pretty damn impressed. But also am sad to say that my plenum gasket is leaking (oil on the bottom of the intake) after only 3 months, I just changed it with an updated dodge gasket in May. So next on the list of things to get is the billet plenum kit. it'll be nice to see what it'll do then.

If you don't have a fastman (or equivalant) get one!! you won't be disappointed.

mileage actually improved that much? i've thought about a fastman TB for awhile now but wasn't going to do it if it didn't increase mileage. maybe now i'll think about it a little harder

check this thread out, and read the last post.

http://www.dodgetrucks.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=43635

and a quote from the same person in the last post...

"Alright, I put the 52mm throttle body on tonight...

WOW! It SERIOUSLY woke the engine up, I am not exxagerating at all. I really didn't expect much from it and so I was very surprised when I hit the highway and put some weight on the pedal. The truck instantly picked up momentum and I was at 55mph in no time at all. I only went about a mile down the road and back so I haven't had a chance to get any more "data" but as far as acceleration goes, it is greatly improved. I am VERY happy with this upgrade. I can't wait to see what the M1 will add. "

pretty much says it all...

you can get 50 or 52mm, just e-mail Dodgegirl19 with your info & she'll pass it on to Mr Fastman.

Buddy O mine, put the 50mm on his 1999 4X4 318 and said he got great results. averaging 12.7 everyday normal driving, then installed the Fastman TB, loaded the truck to move cross country and said with the bed completely full, and a custom holder for his Super Swamper (600lbs with holder) hanging off the back the truck averaged 13.7. His said he cant wait to get the truck empty and run it up and down the highway a time or two to get the empty mpg gain.
