noise coming from the torque converter shield when in reverse?

Default noise coming from the torque converter shield when in reverse?

Just slid under the truck noise seems to be comeing from the torque converder cover when in reverse any idea on this? 1996 Ram 2500 4x4 5.9 lit TY

...could be your transmission oil pump...when your in revers it moves everything in the tranny slightly, nothing anyone can see with the naked eye...could also be your crank bearings are shot.....

I bet it is the trans oil pump, i will trop the pan and see, can you get to buy droping the pan.Is it the same concept as the engin oil pump? ty for the repley

Nope. You will have to pull the transmission to get to the pump. It sits right behind the tq converter. What kind of noise are you hearing. Is it like a grind noise?

No ... the tranny pump is driven by the torque converter. Pull the shield and see what's going on under it.

Kind of a clinking sound i would sa,.i will take off the converter cover and see whats up, i will let you know. Thanks agian for the help, i dont wont to take it in yet i spent to much money on it allready .I might try to repair it my self. i pulled trannies and engines out my self on older cars and trucks.

I wasn't saying "no" to you ... I was saying that the pump isn't like the oil pump in the engine and that you can't access it by pulling the pan. I posted before seeing your answer ... sorry for any confusion.
