this is not my auction.
i found this on ebay...my question is...will this fit in my 1996 ram, on my console it DOES NOT have the compass and temp thing...but i want to upgrade to this one.....will this fit in my truck...do i have the right hookups? thanks!

it will fit but I can see from the pictures that the 2 clips near the lights are both broken. I got one off of ebay that had the same problem, they are apparently weak points. but unless yours is still in tact and you just want to swap out the temp/comp. yeah it will fit.

You'll have to add the temp probe and the wiring up to the console - they are not installed at the factory without the temp/compass option (pretty sure about that-looked into it myself a couple of years ago).
If you do need to add the probe and wiring, and you decide to do it, keep us infromed on your progress; if it's easy enough I might try it.
