Default gas sensor

My gas gauge moves a lot. I never really know how much gas I really have on my truck. Its a 98' and I love the truck and want it fixed to see how much gas I really get. Is there like a gas sensor I need to buy, how do I fix this situation? thanks

It will move because of the float arm. Just get used to it.

like i said, sometimes when i start the car, it tells me im on E, and the gas light does come on, then ill start it again and it will go to normal and when im driving it will drop down to E again with the light coming on, then it will go back to normal. Can I install new sensors?

There are no sensors.... Are you parking on a hill? That could be it. If not just get used to it. Go by mpg instead of your gas hand.

If you park nose up on a hill, the gauge will quickly show towards E. I always fill it up and run it for about a little less than 300 miles ... when the light comes on while driving level ... fill it up again.
