Default Used Car Warranty Suggestions?

Just picked up a 2001 Ram. Anyone have any experience, good or bad, with used car warranty companies? Did some research on line and still can't make up my mind which is best and I don't want to waste my money or time. There are some nightmare stories out there too!

Appreciate any input.

Well I paid 1300 for a warrenty and lost it all because the company went out of business. Just be careful with who you deal with and even then it is still a gamble. I even checked the company out through the BBB and still this happened.

used car warranties are pritty much useless, unless its through a major dealer (dodge, ford, etc.)
If you read the warranties they offer they basicly will only cover such things as castings, and thats about it. When i got this truck the warranty that came with it was "bla bla bla covers everything" and then the fine print narrowed it down to basicly a crack in the block not due to freezing overheating or impact, same for the trans and heads. that was it. (CARS was the warrantieer just to let you know)

After many hours of research, I found out that of all the companies I reviewed, and there were many, only one was listed on the BBB, D&B, and recommended by more info sheets than any other. And not only that, they were the only ones that would answer any of my questions over the phone. In case anyone wants to know for future reference, the warranty company that I am referencing is Warranty Direct.

Thanks to all who replied and shared their comments. [8D]

Waste of money...don't do it. Most have so many qualifiers and restrictions on the warranties that they can not be held responsible for much.
