Default Need I Decently Quiet Muffler

Currently running a couple of aftermarket "things" from previous owner that do little to cut noise, and boy the resonance inside the cab is unreal.

I need to buy a muffler that won't restrict too much, and be quiet.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Some ideas:

I like the construction of the DynoMax Stainless Steel UltraFlo mufflers, and by trial and error have found that their longest one (36 inch long, 6 inch diameter model for RV use) in the regular muffler location and another 16 inch long UltraFlo as an exhaust tip makes for a quiet system that is also low backpressure.

For 2nd opinions, read what these guys found:

I also think these muffler designs are interesting:

I also wanted a quiet muffler. I installed a Walker cat back system with the Quiet Flow3 muffler. Even though it is a stock replacement it sounds really good. I'm so glad I didn't buy a performance muffler. I don't race my truck so restriction is not a problem.

Great lots of info here. I have a 98 ram quad cab with 176000 kilometers, with the original exhaust system, but it won't be long now, the muffler is looking ripe.

Thanks Kayakman
